Kara Vēstures Rekonstrukcijas Klubs "REDUT" brings together people who believe the past deserves careful study and honest presentation.
Our history
From shared curiosity to a registered association
REDUT grew out of a group of enthusiasts who studied historical uniforms, equipment and military life and wanted to share that knowledge with the public. Over time the group formalised its work as a registered association in Latvia.
Today the club combines documentary research, careful reconstruction of historical dress and equipment, and educational programmes for schools, families and cultural institutions.
Our name — redut, a redoubt or small fortification — reflects what we try to do for heritage: protect it, hold it in place and keep it standing for the next generation.
Identity
Our organisational identity
REDUT is an independent, non-political cultural association. We do not recruit for military purposes, sell weapons or equipment, or represent any political movement.
Our focus is historical education, research, preservation, restoration and public awareness.
